School Lunch Program

At Bethel Outreach Community Services (BOCS), we believe every child deserves to learn with dignity, energy, and confidence.

Our Free Inclusive School Lunch Program provides nutritious, healthy, and culturally familiar meals to students facing food insecurity—ensuring no child sits in class hungry or ashamed.

Thanks to the support of our community partners, we are serving more children each day and expanding access to those on waiting lists. Together, we are building a future where every child is nourished, included, and able to thrive.

BOCS—feeding hope, dignity, and possibility.

Inclusive School Lunch

At the heart of our mission is a commitment to fostering inclusivity and celebrating diversity. We are dedicated to nurturing a sense of belonging and community within our program. We warmly welcome individuals and families to join our vibrant array of events and activities, which encompass communal dinners, engaging workshops, and festive cultural celebrations.

Our Community Support Program is dedicated to creating a secure and nurturing environment for those facing challenges. Our devoted team works tirelessly to bridge individuals and families with the vital resources they need to lead fulfilling and healthy lives. We extend a helping hand through a wide range of services, including job training, financial counselling, and housing support, to empower vulnerable individuals and guide them towards self-sufficiency.

Through the bonds of a caring community, we empower those in need, enabling them to forge a brighter future for themselves and their families. Your support is instrumental in sustaining these critical services for those who need them the most. Together, we can make a profound difference.

Why School Lunch?

For many African and Caribbean children, school can feel like a space where their culture is often missing—especially at lunchtime. The School Lunch Program exists to change that. We believe that when children see their culture reflected in the food they eat, it:

What We’re Doing Differently:

Feel the taste of Home.

From Farm to Classroom

Our From Farm to Classroom initiative connects children to their roots—literally. Through this program, we plant and harvest organic African and Caribbean crops such as okra (okro), ewedu (jute leaves), callaloo, and more, right here in our community gardens and partner farms.
