Introduction

Bethel Community Services is driven by the conviction that every individual, regardless of their financial circumstances, should have unfettered access to nourishing food. Regrettably, our community grapples with the pervasive problem of food insecurity. Nonetheless, we wholeheartedly dedicate ourselves to confronting this challenge head-on. Our Food Security Program encompasses an array of services meticulously crafted to guarantee that no one within our community is deprived of the sustenance necessary for a healthy and prosperous life.

Our Services: We offer a range of services as part of our Food Security Program, including:

  • Food Bank: Our food bank provides emergency food assistance to individuals and families facing food insecurity. We work with local food retailers and distributors to gather fresh and non-perishable food items that we then distribute to those in need.
  • Meal Programs: Our meal programs provide hot, nutritious meals to individuals and families facing food insecurity. We work with local partners to prepare and deliver meals to those who need them most
  • Education and Support: We offer educational resources and support to help individuals and families learn how to access healthy and nutritious food on a limited budget. Our team of experts is available to answer questions and provide guidance on how to make the most of the resources available.
  • Farm Fresh: Each year, our organization secures funding from Community Food Centres Canada to provide individuals and families in our food bank with a four-month supply of fresh vegetables sourced directly from New Farm.
