Our Mission

Our mission is to ensure that all members of our community receive the care and resources necessary to not only survive but thrive in their homes. We do this by helping, understanding, and serving each other, working collaboratively to make a positive impact on the lives of those we serve.

We are dedicated to nurturing a welcoming and inclusive community, where all individuals have access to the resources essential for their overall well-being. Our commitment extends to aiding various marginalized groups, including low-income individuals, housing-challenged individuals, international students, people with accessibility needs, the elderly, youth, immigrants, and refugees. Through our efforts, we provide vital care and support to those in need and offer assistance to those experiencing hardship.

Our team consists of passionate and dedicated individuals united by a common goal: making a positive impact in the lives of others. With our extensive experience in community support, we deeply understand the unique challenges our clients face. Furthermore, our dedicated volunteers are the backbone of our organization, and without their invaluable contributions, we wouldn’t be able to accomplish what we do.

We offer a diverse range of programs and services designed to cater to the unique needs of our community. These programs include the Community Support Program, New Immigrant Program, Literacy Program, Youth Mentorship Program, After-School Program, Summer Camp Program, Refugee Settlement Program, Senior Wellness Program, and the Inclusive Ethnic Food Security Program. Each of these initiatives has been carefully customized to meet specific requirements and offer crucial assistance to our community members.

Bethel Outreach Community Services is dedicated to the conviction that every individual deserves the chance to flourish, and our unwavering commitment drives us to turn this belief into tangible outcomes. We work tirelessly to provide our clients with essential resources and unwavering support, empowering them to reach their aspirations and lead fulfilling lives.

About Our Founder

Pastor Vivian N. Etuka, the steadfast and compassionate Founder/CEO of Bethel Outreach Community Services, has dedicated her life’s work to fervently championing the causes of inclusive food security and food justice, driven by her profound commitment to her ministry.

Drawing upon her extensive journey through life’s multifaceted challenges and triumphs, she has cultivated a rich reservoir of empathy and a genuine, unwavering commitment to understanding and alleviating the suffering of others. Her wealth of experiences has not only honed her expertise but also nurtured a deep wellspring of compassion that fuels her unwavering dedication to making a meaningful, positive impact on the lives of those she encounters.

Her unwavering dedication led to a pivotal moment in 2019 when Pastor Etuka spearheaded the establishment of the Bethel Outreach Food Bank in Brampton, Ontario. Since its inception, the organization has undergone a remarkable transformation, evolving from its initial mission of supporting 50 families and individuals each week to now extending its benevolent reach to over 230 families and individuals on a weekly basis, a testament to her boundless passion and the critical importance of her mission, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Brampton Food Hub: A Trailblazing Initiative to Combat Food Insecurity Takes Root in Brampton:

Our organization, in collaboration with five other community partners, has successfully inaugurated the Brampton Food Hub. This Hub boasts an expansive 13,000 square feet of food warehouse space, strategically situated in the heart of Brampton. This central location is designed to facilitate convenient access, promoting seamless food procurement and distribution efforts for our community.

In response to the urgent challenge of food insecurity and driven by the shared vision of the Peel Community Collaborative (PCC), six non-profit organizations are excited to announce the formation of the Brampton Food Hub. This innovative initiative unites All Peoples Church, Basket Brigade Canada, Bethel Outreach Community Services, Free for All Foundation, Punjabi Community Health Services, and Knights Table as the primary driving forces. Together, they share a common mission to create a sustainable food network in Brampton, ensuring that all residents have fair and inclusive access to nourishing, culturally relevant food.

We are steadfast in our conviction that every person, irrespective of their financial means, should enjoy unhindered access to nutritious sustenance. Unfortunately, food insecurity remains a pressing concern, impacting a significant portion of our community. In our dedicated effort to address this challenge, our Food Security Program provides a wide range of services, all aimed at ensuring that everyone can attain the nourishment necessary to lead healthy and prosperous lives.
